MAXIME CITERNE:
3rd generation of dedicated philatelists, I have 24 years of philatelic experience, with a particular interest in the fields of expertising and worldwide classics. My initial interest for many years has been Russian philately (prior to 1950s, including pre-philately and Zemstvo), but was later expanded to all Classic World Issues.
Since 2022 I am also very fortunate to work as a professional philatelist for the very experienced team at Heinrich Köhler Auction House, in Wiesbaden. I consider this achievement a peak of my career.
AFFILIATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS:
√ Philatelic Traders´ Society (PTS), London
√ Member Rossica, Korea Stamp Society, International Society of Guatemala Collectors, Nicaragua Study Group
WHAT WE DO:
For our international clientele we are hunting down unusual, significant and/or top-quality items that are challenging to obtain on the market.
OUR STORY:
1930s - The family´s philatelic story begins in Europe with Gabriel Citerne (1901-1981). French politician on an official trip to pre-war USSR, Gabriel was invited to the Soviet postal museum in Leningrad, where he was given some cut-off of Russia´ s 1858 first imperforated stamp watermarked sheet. Picture below: a family tradition, with Gabriel Citerne (first from left) during a stamp-talk by Michel Liphschutz RDP in the 1960s.
1950s - Gabriel became a founding member of the Association Internationale des Journalistes Philatélistes (AIJP) and president of the stamp club "France-URSS" in Paris.
1960s - Editor in Chief and publisher of two specialised catalogues, with co-authors Serge Rockling (Romeko) and Michel Liphschutz RDP.
1980s - Third generation grandson Maxime Citerne now keeps on the family tradition. Over the years, Maxime has developped a strong interest in worldwide classics and postal history.
Russia Zemstvo, Kherson postal stationery used for a petition sent to the village of Zaselye, very rare.
