SOVIET AIRMAIL ROUTE CENTRAL ASIA: TASHKENT - MOSCOW
Moscow 1931 (3 March) - Domestic Airmail envelope sent to Tashkent via the MOSCOW - TASHKENT air route. The postal 50k fee (tariff of 1st May 1930 for Asian part of USSR) was exceptionnally collected as cash and red circular "MOSCOW FEE PAID" (Москва ЭКСП. Сбор взыскан) was struck. Arrival on the back "TASHKENT 11 03 1931". Very Fine.
Postal communications between Central Asia and Moscow were of utmost importance and from 1st May 1930 the air route was connecting Tashkent to Moscow via Samara-Kuybyshev, Orenburg, Aralsk, Kazalinsk and Kzyl Orda (about 3350 km). There were three flights per week. See Mr Ackerman excellent reference book "Via The Red Skies".
A very rare Cash Collected airmail to Central Asia.
