Petrograd 1920 (26 March) - Postal parcel card for a very heavy shipment of 537 kg ("1312 funt") sent to Novgorod. Total sending fee in manuscript amount to "120,50" roubles, paid by a combination of reprinted "Arms" 10r (6), 5r (8), 1r (20) and 50k. Upon arrival, the handstamp "NOVGOROD 29 3 20" was applied on the back and a pair of 3 kopek stamps stuck on the front (forwarding fee) by the postal clerk, postmarked Novgorod 8 April 1920. Very Fine.
Soviet mail during 1920 is rather uncommon, as postal services were highly impacted by the raging civil war and ordinary mail was sent free of charge.
