SOVIET AIRMAIL ROUTE: MOSCOW - RYAZAN
Ryazan 1932 (29 May) - International Registered Airmail envelope with Soviet Definitives 20k, 15k (2), 3k (3) and 1k, making up a 60k franking underpaid by 15k (55k airmail + 20k registration, tariff of 3 May 1932), sent to Belgium via the RYAZAN - MOSCOW, then Moscow - BERLIN air routes. Transit "BERLIN 31 05 1932". Very Fine.
Part of the expansion of air routes in European Russia, the Moscow - Ryazan - Kozlov - Voronezh - Stalingrad line was finally achieved by Summer 1932 (see Ackerman p. 231). The 180 km air route between Moscow and Ryazan was the first segment operational.
